The Kamalilio Advanced Training set of classes target to teach about most common types of Voice and Unified communication platforms you can build:

• carrier and trunking services
• enterprise and residential VoIP services
• secure and scalable communication platforms

• June 2-5, 2025 – Europe Timezone: Kamailio Scalability

The trainings are organized by Asipto  and will be coordinated by Daniel-Constantin Mierla, co-founder and lead developer of Kamailio SIP Server project. For an overview of Kamailio SIP server project and its history, see the “Kamailio Project Overview” section at the bottom of this page.

Over the years Kamailio has accumulated more and more features, making it difficult to cover properly during a single Kamailio Advanced Training. Furthermore, with every edition, getting to longer and more intensive daily sessions impacted the capacity of the participants to focus and absorb the knowledge, and increased the pressure in case they had to attend critical tasks from their jobs. Therefore, starting with the 2025 editions, the Kamailio Advanced training has been split in two:

• Kamailio Advanced Training: to be delivered during 4 days, each day with a 4 hours session, focusing on the features that are essential to design and deploy advanced Kamailio-based RTC systems
• Kamailio Scalability Training: to be delivered during 4 days, each day  with a 4 hours session, focusing on the features needed by the Kamailio-based RTC systems that have to evolve for more scalability and high availability

During the training sessions, the participants get access to a dedicated cloud system where Kamailio is deployed and they can perform the labs or test the suggested solutions in the slides. The editions, Advanced and Scalability, will be scheduled a couple of weeks apart to enable a more convenient participation for those that need both of them.

The details on this page are intended for public editions, with participants from different companies, but the training can also be done privately, for participants from the same company. The structure and the content of private sessions can be changed to suit better the participating team, contact us if you want to discuss about a private Kamailio Advanced Training.

Kamailio Project Overview

Kamailio SIP server is a winner of several world wide awards, including UK ITSPA, SimCom or the famous InfoWorld Award: Best Open Source Networking Software, confirming one more time it is the leader of Open Source SIP servers out there.

The trainings will be done using Kamailio latest stable series 6.0.x.

By end of 2012, Kamailio project has finished to incorporate all features of SIP Express Router (SER), giving you the most powerful tools to build stable, very performant and features rich VoIP and Unified Communication platforms.

All together, the project accumulated over 23 years of development and thousands of production deployments (some references here), offering around 250 modules, from carrier oriented needs, like least cost routing, load balancing, traffic shaping, to residential services as call forwarding, hunt groups, call baring, instant messaging and presence, making possible a large range of specific deployments.

During the past years, Asipto has organized on-site and online editions of Kamailio World Conference, events that in the past brought together participants from North and South America, Asia, Africa and Europe, showing once again the maturity and wide spread of Kamailio SIP Server project.

The advanced classes have a structure to continue further from the Kamailio Admin Book, focusing more on the advanced topics such as scalability, security and specific SIP routing customizations, with more practical examples. In other words, the basic concepts are no longer part of the content, starting directly on understanding and practicing real world use cases. Participants to this class will get a free copy of Kamailio Admin Book.
